“Great dreams aren’t just visions,” says Astro Teller, “They’re visions coupled to strategies for making them real.” The head of X (formerly Google X), Teller takes us inside the “moonshot factory,” as it’s called, where his team seeks to solve the world’s biggest problems through experimental projects like balloon-powered Internet and wind turbines that sail through the air. Find out X’s secret to creating an organization where people feel comfortable working on big, risky projects and exploring audacious ideas.

Google sucks.
Men will see Visions and Dream Dreams. Anti Human Visionaries exist to infiltrate other men's DREAMS.
Moonshot factory is a wonderful idea and celebrating the failure is excellent. Thanks for the eye-opening insights, Astro Teller!
😍
here dc
Dafaq is he talking about? It sounds like he's disguising all his achievements by just "using" the word failure rather than taking the meaning of the word failure. What a waste of time!
I would like to work here
What should I do
What an amazing example of unconditional love and service to humanity.!! It brought tears to my eyes.
Dude electric light did not come from the improvement of candles
This is Popper perspective of all human endeavours. Nice.
I have to admit the balloon project is really promising.
But most projects are distorted by a western-biased, ethnocentric view on the world. They are looking at many problems from a very unworldly perspective, making their ideas sound like aristocrates castles in the air: not taking into account how normal people in the world live and what THEY really need. Which should be the starting point. Some examples:
– complete automation in harvesting is not the crucial point for most people right now – only for the rich people in a system driven by wealth inbalance (capitalism).
– Looking at a product the "shipping" is still a small (and extremely efficient per weight when done by ship) portion of the CO₂. The main CO₂ cause is the consumption of unnecessary products driven by growth compulsion and thus marketing.
So no one is going to mention how close the balloon Idea is to Elon Musks?
I so badly needed the motivation to get through the difficult phase of my research as a high schooler. I really gotta thank this guy, I will be excited to fail from now on!
Most people are lazy, any individual with a cellphone can borrow money on-line with OneLend Opp. c om , no BS , appearance it up.
The only way that i managed paying the bills is One Lend Opp . Co m , Simply Google it. very quick process and money is in the Bank.
To not be afraid of failure lets find you the right way quicker. Most people give up before they even tried, because they are afraid how (negative) their environment is gonna react.
If you try enough times success is inevitable.
Brilliant way of presenting how to think big, I liked that. However, with the balloons I wonder if those areas where there was no internet really need it, if it would be better to leave then as areas with no EMF where people can go a disconnect. I'm genuinely curious if that's solving a problem in all places where it's been deployed.
I wish I could convince my dad that failure has benefits.

"Enthusiastic Skepticism".
Did you try modifying the soil bacteria to suit the staple crops like rice, wheat, corn? I hope you share ALL the data when you fail and close a project, give what you learned to the world, someone else will figure it out, or save time and not fail next time.
awesome
Moon shots sounds like shots of Moonshine
